Movie Nights.

This week, I've watched 3 movies in 3 days.

On Tuesday, I watched Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time with my parents.
Honestly, I didn't understand the first few scenes of the movie but I understood it more toward the middle parts.
Not a bad show, actually.

On Wednesday, I watched Music And Lyrics with my mum.
I've always liked the song 'Way Back Into Love'.
Watched it until midnight.

On Thursday, I watched Coraline with my mum.
Well, it was one weird show.
Sewing buttons for eyes?
Let's just say it's a horror movie for kids.
I'm serious.

Movie nights are nice :)

The Blind Side.

Yesterday, my class got to skip four periods of studies to watch The Blind Side.

Meaning, we got to skip all the classes before recess.

If you guys were wondering why we got to watch the movie, it's because of choral speaking.

Yeah, so this is our reward ;)

We watched the movie in the bilik tayangan.

And I enjoyed the show, even though I have watched it before because you will always understand more of the movie when you watch it a second time, yes?

And I also like Sandra Bullock, as I said in the previous post.

Today, Miss Ely is going to give us an assignment to do based on the movie.

If only all school days were like yesterday ;)

We Lost.

Yes, that clarifies it all.

We lost against the Form 4s.
Here's the whole story.

At 1.10, the competition began.
We had to pick our number (even though there are only two teams taking part).
And guess what?
We got number one.

So we went first.
Unorganized, because we never rehearsed how we were going to get up on stage.
But I feel, that we did it quite well, for something we only thought of during the last few seconds.

Then we did it.
Our choral speaking.
And this time, it went perfectly (except for a teensy little bit in the end).
Among all our practices, this final performance was the best.

And then it was time for the Form 4s to do theirs.
And they were good.

After they were done, our class was praying so hard, hoping to win this.
And then it happened.

The Form 4s started screaming.
Then we knew, we had lost.
And people started tearing up and crying.

We were sitting at one end of the hall, most of the girls crying their hearts out.
Where else, the Form 4s were screaming away.
Yeah, you could say, we did feel miserable at the time.

Then a teacher approached us.
She said that we didn't have enough expression, should project more of our voices, etc.
On a happy note, she mentioned that we, this choral speaking team from 1 Batai, will represent the school starting next year, until we were Form 4s.
That lightened our mood a little (for some).

Miss Ely gave us around 15 minutes as a cry-or-laugh session to let it all out.
The dissapointment, rage, sadness.
As usual, me and Shi Ying were still as happy as ever, but there was still a pinch of sadness in me.
But I got over it and said to myself:

'You know what? We didn't lose at all. We won. How did we even get into this mini-competition against the Form 4s? Because we won the choral speaking competition against 7 other Form 1 classes. Now, fine, we lost against the Form 4s. But we didn't lose anything. Instead, we gained experience. No loss involved. And anyway, we get to go for the next 3 years! Imagine how much improvement we can achieve in a year. We did it in 2 weeks. In a years time, we'll be one awesome team.'

That's what I think.
So my advice is to just relax.
It's over, and we'll work harder for next year right?

Long live 1 Batai.
Or as Ariff would say,

Viva 1 Batai ;)

Another Ordinary Day.

Yesterday was somehow a weird yet awesome day.

It all started in school.
During Sivics, we had to act out some cerita rakyats that were in the textbook.
So my group, consisting of me, Shi Ying, Sheng-En, Weiqian, Lydia, Yieh Shing, Katerine and Azmiera chose the Kong Zhi story.
And it was a total fail.
Hahah.

Ah, Geography period was the time when I heard some pretty weird stuff.
If you read Percy Jackson, then you'll understand more of this Greek mythology.

Ariff claims that he is Zeus.
LOL.
As the god of the gods, he claimed Shi Ying as the Goddess of Sickness (which specializes in flus) and Yieh Shing as the Goddess of Money?
I was left a regular mortal.
Haiz..

For some reason that I cannot remember, they were fighting each other?
So Ariff was doing some stupid silat move xD.
So I told him, "You're Zeus, God of the Sky! Fly!".
And then he did some flying motions which look kind of retarded :/
Then he said he would just use a pegasus and fly away xD.
I replied, "Aiyoh, you're god of the gods yet you use Poseidon's creation to escape the Goddess of Sickness and Money."

Shi Ying is the daughter of Aphrodite?
LOL.

Yeah, well, it was a you-had-to-be-there moment.

A Busy Day, Indeed.

Yesterday was one busy day for me.
Let me tell you about my day, starting from the beginning.

I woke up at 7 in the morning.
Why so early, you ask?
Well, it's because I was going to Yuk Chai for their fund-raising carnival.
(And no, I am not from Yuk Chai.)

The reason I went for the carnival is because Sarah is in Yuk Chai and she asked me to tag along.
So I said okay.
I wanted to see Yuk Chai anyway.

At the carnival, I was shocked to know that they were selling:
1. Flat screen TVs
2. Durians, and
3. Siew yok

LOL.

There I saw Jia Sheng, Nicholas, Chia Sing and Cheng Wei.
I also saw Kwok Rong, Zheng Wei and many more.

After that, my aunty fetched me home.
Immediately after I reached home, my dad asked me whether I would like to go to Subang Parade, to get The Last Olympian book.
Upon we reaching there, we went to MPH and got the book.
But unfortunately, it was the cover I didn't like.
But oh well.

Then my dad bought chocolate flavoured bubble tea for me!
It was not bad.

After that, we left for home.
At home, I took a bath and had a lunch of fishball noodles (which was good).
Then my mum asked me to sleep as we were going to attend a wedding dinner at night.
But she failed epicly.
Heheh.

That is because at that time, my dad put on a dvd that he wanted to watch.
The A-Team.
So I went into the room and was like, "Oooh, it looks like a nice show!"
And I'm sure you can guess what happened next.
I watched the whole show and I want to say this.

The A-Team is one awesome show!
Go watch it!

After that I slept for an hour and a half.
I woke up and my dad cooked up a cup of maggi mee for me, my mum and grandmother to eat.
Yumm..

Then we went for the wedding.
It was quite nice, with cold air conds, nice decorations, etc.
The food was good too!

After the dinner, it was already 11 when we reached home.
After washing up, I went online until about 12?
Then I slept out of exhaustion.

I know I could have had a less tiring day if I didn't watch the show but, I couldn't resist ;)

The A-Team rocks.

There's Always Space For Improvement.

In my previous post, I told you guys about the problems we were facing because of choral speaking.
All the drama.

Thankfully, when we rehearsed our choral speaking yesterday, it went smoothly.
We managed to finish the whole script.
Yes, that is an achievement.
We managed to create lesser mistakes.

After completing one complete script, we did it another time.
But this time, we were being recorded.
(No, we were not being stalked.)

Miss Ely said that she would video tape us, then show us the results in the bilik tayangan.
Enough expression?
Cooperation?
Whether we sound good?
We'll know soon enough as she is going to show us the video next week.

Back to topic, after the second round of choral speaking, Miss Ely said this:
"From zero, the quality of your choral speaking has gone up thirty percent."

Thirty percent.
Now that is an achievement.
Thirty percent in a day is really good!

Honestly, I thought we would never win against the Form 4s.
But now, I changed my mind.

I think we really do have a chance.
Looks like we have to get our seventy percent.

No Title?

Okay.

As most of you know, my class (1 Batai) is competing in a choral speaking competition, yes?
So, it goes like this:

1. Competition against Form 4s next Thursday.
If we lose, that's the end.

But if we win,

2. Competition against other schools on the first of August, in Subang Parade.
Now that would be awesome.

But the problem now is, some people are not giving their all into this.
So you could say, we're going a bit slow at the moment when our first competition is next week.

For example, you should've seen our class yesterday.
Shouting.
Screaming.
Crying.

I know, some of you guys (from other classes) say that our choral speaking is awesome.
And really, we appreciate your support!
But behind that 'awesomeness' that you see, there are many problems.

Again, I refer to yesterday.
During KH, all the girls were EMO because of this particular reason (except me and Shi Ying, possibly?)

Sigh.
Like my MSN personal message states:
"Oh, the stress over one small petty matter."
