China, A Beautiful Country (Day 1)

I woke up early. Very early. 4.15 a.m., to be exact. No, not due to excitement. It's because of the time we have to reach the airport. So, I woke up still sleepy. The air-cond on, just plain awesome. Unfortunately, I had to get up. Sigh. So I went to wash up and everything. Then I ate a packet of Skyflakes. It was HORRIBLE and dry. Anyway, the van (to the airport) came to our house at 4.50 a.m. when it was supposed to arrive at 5 a.m. so it was early. We got the same van driver we got when going for our Australia trip.

We put all our luggage into the van. Then we left for Koo Ma's house. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you who went. Let me tell you now. 10 of us went to China. They are me, my mum, my dad, Ah Fong Koo Che, Koo Ma, Koo Cheong, Koko Alvin, Aunty Ruby, Aunty Agnes and Aunty Moy. Back to the post. When we reached the house, we helped to put in some of the luggage into Koo Ma's car (we went in 2 cars). Then we left for KLIA. In the van, it was BORING. After being bored for SO long, we finally reached KLIA. We hurried to the check-in area cuz we were afraid there was going to be a lot of people. We lined up and checked-in our luggage.

After that, we went to the McDonald's in KLIA for breakfast. All of us ate a Big Breakfast. I didn't eat it for a LONG time. It was yummy! I also had Milo. That was yummy too! After finishing breakfast, we went to board the plane, which was around 7.30 a.m. Unfortunately, I didn't get the window seat. Oh well. Then, it's takeoff time. The flight is around four and a half hours long.

Remember the post I wrote/typed about my Australia trip? Where they had screens on the back of every seat for entertainment? They had that too. BUT we had to pay for it. RM30. So no entertainment for four and a half hours. Boring! But at least it has one thing that's free. Chat room. Yup. So I chatted with my mum. Lol. Nothing better to do. Then out of no where, a random person just says hi to my mum. My mum asked me what to do. Whether to reply or just ignore it. I said just reply lah!! No harm, right?

Their conversation. Lol.

So they chatted. Kinda boring after a while. So I decided to chat with Koko Alvin. We were talking about marshmallows? Lol. Then my mum asked me to pretend to go toilet to go and see who was the mystery chatter since I was sitting nearest to the aisle. I hesitated at first but I went in the end. So after looking at the mystery chatter and 'pretending' to go toilet, I reported back to my mum. Lol.

Then they served lunch. Oh wait, we ordered lunch. Lunch isn't provided on the plane. So for lunch I ordered spaghetti. It was really small. Really. But the taste was ok, ok lah. After 'lunch', touchdown time.
Once we stepped out of the plane, you can feel the cool breeze on your face. Just awesome. Wait, did I say cool breeze? I mean, COLD. It was 11 degrees Celcius. We went to collect our luggage at the conveyer belt place. Altogether we had 10 bags. Luckily, all the bags came this time and NOT like the Australian trip. Lol. You know the place where you come out, before exiting the airport there's this place where the people will be holding papers with the names of people their looking for? Yes, we found Koo Cheong's name. It was held by our Hangzhou tour guide, Lulu. She was not only our Hangzhou tour guide, but also our main tour guide. Meaning she'll be with us for the whole 6 days. Then we went outside to go to our tour bus/van.

China buses. Lol.

So we went to sit down. I sat next to my mum. Lulu greeted us and talked to us about China. Unfortunately, she talked in Mandarin. Me and a few other people didn't understand her. So luckily, she could speak a bit of Cantonese so I can understand a bit, a bit lah. Firstly, we went to this old village. We were told that all the youngsters already moved out of the village, so only old people are left. Here are some pics.

Lol.

After that, we went back to the van. We left for Suzhou. I'm not very sure how long was the journey though. Around 1 hour, according to my mum. Anyway, the journey was kinda boring so I decided to take out my awesome handphone!! I listened to nice songs such as, Man In The Mirror, Beat It, They Don't Care About Us, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, etc. Then it happened. It was there. Excitement.

You see, something fell out from a big lorry onto the side of the road. So this car saw it and hit the brakes. The car behind that car emergency braked and managed to stop in time. BUT, the car behind that car and 2 other cars behind THAT car didn't manage to stop in time. So BAM! Accident. Luckily, our driver was VERY alert. He immediately swerved (dunno how to spell) out to the middle lane and avoided the accident. But that's not the end. A lorry behind us was following too close behind and guess what? It hit the back of our van. It was a loud bang. But we we're just thankful to be safe and sound.
Outside we could see the drivers shouting at each other. And some inconsiderate people were horning us like crap. I mean, hello? Just got banged, okay? Sheesh. Anyway, someone called the police to come and solve the case on who's to blame. One thing, there was a really bad jam because of the accident. So how was the police supposed to come quickly? No chance. After waiting for a long time, the police eventually came.
So based on my story, it's clear we were not at fault, right? But, the cars (the ones involved in the accident) blamed us for the whole accident!! We were like, "What the hell??!!". But I have to say the police in China are really good. They look for scratch marks, they measure stuff, etc. It felt like being in CSI. Lol. Then they told the car drivers that it was NO WAY our fault. After being stuck there for one hour and fifteen minutes, we could finally leave.

We continued our journey to Suzhou. When we reached Suzhou, we went to look for the restaurant for our dinner. We found it in the end and hurried in as we all were tired from the day's experience (and hungry too!). They serve the typical Chinese food. There we met our Suzhou tour guide, Alex. After we finished our first meal in China, we left for 'pasar malam'.
China's concept of 'pasar malam' is indoor stores such as Adidas. Not like Malaysian pasar malams, where they sell char kuey teow. Nope. Way different. Anyway, it was so cold there!! Pics here..

Pasar malam with KFC at the back xD

Koko Alvin, me and my dad

After some time, we left. we went to look for our hotel to stay the night. On the way, we saw some colourful buildings.

We found our hotel. And it was FREEZING cold. Seriously. So we went to our rooms. I shared a room with my mum. To warm ourselves up, me and Koko Alvin ate a cup of Maggi Mee and a cup of hot Milo each. Weird combination, am I right? Oh well. Then we went to sleep and that's the end of day 1.

The hotel beds. Sorry so messy xD

Place where we ate Maggi Mee!

Bye!
